DESIGNATION : Legal Counsel (Part-Time)
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a part-time Legal Counsel who can provide expertise based on the needs of the organization. In this role, you will commit to about 15 hours per month, with the ability to adjust your schedule depending on the volume and urgency of legal requests. This flexible arrangement allows you to contribute strategically to our compliance, governance, and risk management efforts while working in a way that aligns with your availability.
In this role, you will offer strategic legal guidance on various organisational matters, mitigating risks and safeguarding our interests in upcoming initiatives and partnerships. Your expertise will play a key role in supporting our mission to drive positive change and inspire action within the community, all while balancing a flexible schedule that fits your needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on various agreements, contracts, and legal documents
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts for services, engagement letters, and other business agreements
- Offer guidance on corporate governance, data protection, and compliance regulations
- Collaborate with internal teams to address legal matters and mitigate risk.
- Advise and review media statements in crisis situations
- Stay informed on relevant laws and regulations to provide proactive legal counsel
QUALIFICATIONS
- Law degree from an accredited Law School
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience and admitted to the Singapore Bar
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
- Knowledge in relevant regulatory such as Code of Governance for Charity, Charity Act, ERM and PDPA will be added advantage
- Meticulous and service-oriented
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior-level, peers, and other colleagues
