Job Description:The Legal Counsel will report to the CEO to take the lead in Legal matters and provide support in Compliance, including but not limited to investigations and audits. You will work closely with internal teams to address legal and compliance-related issues, secure necessary registrations and approvals, and safeguard the company's business interests.
  • Represent company in dispute resolution/mediation proceedings
  • Handle litigation proceedings with relevant attorney if the need arises
  • Provide counsel to the company for any legal/corporate/regulatory matter
  • You will be involved with contract and agreement management, including assisting with drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
  • Act as the organisation's Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory frameworks..
  • You will take a lead in the area of Legal and provide support in the area of compliance (including but not limited to investigation and audit), partnering closely with internal teams to resolve compliance and legal related issues, register and ensure approvals to protect the business needs.
  • You will help the CEO with providing legal advice and support.
  • Support/Drive any other matter / initiatives / project related to compliance or legal.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Law
  • 3-5 years legal background or relevant experience from retail industry preferred
  • Knowledge or exposure to corporate legal compliance and/or Singapore Customs' / HSA / SPF / SFA compliance is an advantage
  • Knowledge or experience in investigation techniques is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, deadline driven with strong planning and project management skills.
  • Energetic and willingness to learn new things
  • Motivated person who can work well independently and as part of a team.
