The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at Nanyang Technological University seeks a motivated and skilled Project Officer to support a cutting-edge project focused on developing a holistic dataset acquisition and analysis system for earthquake physics.

The role involves coordinating project tasks, managing data collection processes, ensuring the quality and accuracy of data, and supporting the analysis and interpretation of seismic data to enhance earthquake physics understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the collection and processing of seismic and geodetic data from various sources.

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure data integration and accuracy.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of data systems for efficient data acquisition, storage, and retrieval.

  • Support the analysis and interpretation of seismic and geodetic data to identify patterns and trends.

  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management.

  • Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Facilitate clear and effective communication within the research team.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for the research team.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning and management, earth science, image processing, and deep learning or related fields.

  • Experience in project coordination, and organisation.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis software and tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB).

  • Familiarity with seismic and geodetic data acquisition and processing techniques.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team.

  • Ability to adapt to evolving project needs and handle complex tasks efficiently.

  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
