The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is seeking to hire a Research Fellow to support the works in the Seatrium New Energy Laboratory. The work scope of the manpower is to maintain the safe operation with different engine fuels; design and conduct the fuel and engine tests; manage the ongoing projects in the lab; make the energy and emission analysis with numerical simulation; collaborate the details among NTU, Seatrium Ltd, and other partners; etc.

Key Responsibilities:

The Research Fellow will be in charge of operation and analysis for the project in Seatrium New Energy Laboratory under the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The roles of this position include:

  • Facilitate the fuel supply system update in the lab

  • Monitor and operate the engine fuels including diesel, biodiesel, LNG, hydrogen, ammonia, etc.

  • Design the fuel test in the marine engine and perform engine testing

  • Measure engine emission and conducted the species analysis

  • Model the engine performance and emission

  • Support the operation of the ongoing projects

  • Collaborate the work between NTU and industrial partners

Job Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field

  • 3-year research experience in mechanical system and fuel system

  • Expertise in engineering design and experimental scale

  • Experience in numerical simulation for engine performance and emission

  • Publication track record is as one reference.

  • Proficiency in basics of engineering design, mechanical analysis and thermofluid software

  • Proficiency in English and good communication capabilities for Research Project Purpose
