The role

This role is responsible for analysing, optimizing, and controlling logistics costs across multiple markets within the region; ensuring cost efficiency through strategic planning, and process improvements while maintaining high service levels. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, expertise in logistics cost structures, and experience working with freight, warehousing, and distribution networks.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

1) Cost Analysis & Optimization

• Analyse logistics costs, including transportation, warehousing, and customs fees, to identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Monitor cost trends, key performance indicators (KPIs), and budget variances across the region.

• Collaborate with finance and supply chain teams to develop and track cost-saving initiatives.

• Implement cost control measures while ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).

2) Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement

• Work with internal teams and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to improve transportation and distribution efficiency.

• Support automation and digitalization initiatives to improve cost visibility and forecasting.

• Identify and implement best practices in logistics cost management across markets.

3) Budgeting & Reporting

• Assist in annual logistics budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Provide regular cost reports and insights to senior management, highlighting risks and opportunities.

• Support internal audits and ensure cost management processes align with company policies.

4) Team Leadership

• Manage and mentor a high-performing team, providing leadership, guidance, and development opportunities to ensure team success and growth.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in logistics cost management, supply chain finance, or transportation procurement.

• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

• Experience working with 3PLs, freight forwarders, and transportation carriers.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced regional environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Preferred Qualifications:

o Experience in the FMCG, retail, manufacturing and/or e-commerce sectors.

o Knowledge of logistics cost structures in South East Asia.

o Familiarity with sustainability and cost optimization initiatives in logistics.
