-Overseeing the daily operations of the pastry department, including the creation, preparation, and presentation of pastries
-Hiring, training, and supervising lower-level pastry chefs
-Manage cost and quality control
-Prepare a wide variety of pastries such as cakes, macarons etc. following traditional and modern recipes
-Production of cakes, slab cakes, tray cakes, whole cakes, pastries
-Frosting of signature cakes according to standard and decorating of customised cakes. Decorating pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure good presentation
-Be involved in new seasonal menu items
-Ensuring the kitchen has the necessary ingredients and supplies
-Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
-Implementing health and safety training within the pastry department and kitchen
Job Requirements:
-Has 3 to 5 years of experience in baking and production for cakes and pastries, mainly in cake frosting and decoration
-Good team player and able to work well with bakery team
-Attention to detail
-Required to commit to 6 days work week, work on PH & weekends
-Must have WSQ Basic Food and Hygiene Course Certificate
