We’re on the lookout for a talented and creative Pastry Chef to take charge of the pastry program at Bearded Bella—our flagship Melbourne-inspired café in Tanjong Pagar. If you're passionate about pastries, thrive in a hands-on role, and love bringing new ideas to life, we’d love to hear from you!
What We’re Looking For:
You must possess:
- Excellent organisation skills to manage prep, mise en place, and production independently
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with front-of-house and kitchen teams
- A deep passion for baking and the drive to create crowd-pleasing pastries
- Creativity and initiative to lead R&D of new menu items every 4–6 months
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability—this is a solo, management-level role
- Resourceful and cost conscious
Your Role Includes:
- Running the pastry section independently at Bearded Bella
- Planning and producing a wide range of pastries and cakes—both for service and display
- Working a 5-day week, 45 hours total
- Leading R&D for new pastry items in line with seasonal and brand direction
- Managing costing, portion control, and stock levels
- Liaising with suppliers to reduce costs, source better ingredients, and maintain consistency
- Ensuring high standards of hygiene and efficiency in daily operations
