The purpose of this role is to manage underwriting activities and P&L responsibilities for Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) & Retail products across various distribution channels. This includes manual underwriting of digital products, renewal reviews, quotation generation, and building strong relationships with intermediaries to enhance underwriting service delivery and drive product innovation.
Responsibilities:
  • To write Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) & Retail products across multiple distribution channels, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manually underwrite yet-to-be digital products for new business and renewals, including renewal reviews and quotation generation.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders.
  • Actively keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness for effective operations.
  • Achieve key performance indicators related to growth, profitability, renewal retention rate, and new business conversion rate.
  • Ensure servicing and satisfaction of Agency/Local Brokers through NPS scores and timely processing.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of channel strategic plans.
  • Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and good practices to minimise risks and maximise efficiency.
  • Deliver timely decisions and problem-solving solutions for customers and intermediaries.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of new products and commission structures to enhance relationships with intermediaries.
  • Monitor and review underwriting standards, procedures and variations from proposal standards.

Work Experience:
Preferred Work Experience includes:
  • Significant experience in underwriting.
  • Established customer/intermediary relationships.
  • Established customer/broker relationships.
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications include:
  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • With IIQE or ANZIFF
