The incumbent will report to the Global Wholesale Operations Department. The Bank of Nova Scotia is committed to the values of the Bank rooted in respect, integrity, passion, and accountability. The intern will be responsible for / involved in the following projects:
- Build an automated metric tool generating data output design for different stakeholders
- Work with the team managers to design and build capacity model
- Standardize taxonomy across GWO utilities
- Metrics framework
- Help develop our management information (MI) reporting
- An opportunity to perform root cause analysis and offer insight into the performance of client, desk or ‘other’ trending factor.
- An opportunity, through data analysis, to work with the management team in addressing performance factors across the team.
- To design and build capacity model and standardize taxonomy
- Work with the utilities lead to review and update capacity model
- Assist to capture process flow and standardize taxonomy across GWO
- To collate GWO project initiatives, timeline governance and project tracking
- Provide support in consolidation of MI and dashboards of various teams into a Main Summary
Pre-requisites:
- Studying for a degree / major in Business, Finance, Computing or Engineering
- Excellent Excel skills, VBA or SQL skills preferred,
- Strong communication skills
- Good attention to detail and able to work accurately.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in banking industry
- Interest in analytics
Learning Outcomes
- The incumbent will get a good understanding of operations and how this function provide service and support in a bank
- Provides an opportunity to participate in requirement capturing and implementation of tools such as Power BI
