The Career Consultant (Placement) plays a central role in pinpointing skill and talent gaps in the market, understanding the specific talent requirements and shortages within the job market, actively collaborating with employers to generate job opportunities, and proactively establishing a robust pipeline of employment prospects for our learners. This position is dedicated to closing the gap between jobseekers and the ever-evolving job market, ensuring that skills align with job demands, and facilitating meaningful employment connections.

Working closely with employers to prepare and significantly enhance the job placement prospects of our adult learners. The incumbent is deeply passionate and consistently strives to elevate the profiles and employability of our adult graduates. Their commitment lies in delivering outstanding service and creating a meaningful career transformation experience for our PMET graduates.

Responsibilities

  • Market Analysis: Identify skill and talent gaps in the job market through comprehensive research and analysis. Stay updated on industry trends and employment demands.
  • Talent Gap Assessment: Gain a deep understanding of specific talent requirements and shortages within the job market, including both industry-specific and broader skills gaps.
  • Employer Engagement: Actively engage with employers to create employment opportunities for our learners. Establish and nurture relationships with key industry players.
  • Pipeline Development: Proactively build and maintain a strong pipeline of job opportunities for adult learners. Collaborate with employers to align their talent needs with our learners' skills.
  • Career Coaching: Work closely with employers to prepare adult learners for successful placement with employers. Provide guidance and support on job search strategies and interview techniques.
  • Profile Enhancement: Assist adult graduates in enhancing their profiles and employability. Conduct employability workshops and provide personalized career development coaching/counselling.
  • Service Excellence: Deliver excellent service to both jobseekers and employers. Ensure a trusted partnership by upholding confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years in talent placement, career coaching/counselling, talent acquisition, or related roles.
  • Experience in job market analysis and employer engagement is highly advantageous.
  • Good understanding of industry trends, employment demands, and talent gaps in the job market.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with employers and industry professionals.
  • Proficient in providing career coaching and counselling to enhance jobseeker profiles and employability.
  • Empathetic and compassionate, with the ability to understand and address the unique needs of adult learners.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and able to adapt to changing market conditions and learner requirements.
  • Collaborative and able to work effectively with career coaches and other team members.
  • ACTA/ACLP is a plus.
