Our client, a renowned financial firm is looking for a Middle Office Associate/Senior Associate to be responsible for managing and overseeing key control environments that support the daily trade life cycle for a global fixed income portfolio management team.
This role involves collaboration across internal teams such as Portfolio Management, Trade Support, Legal & Compliance, Operations, Technology, and back-office functions. You will also engage with external parties including brokers, custodian banks, and third-party trading platforms to resolve issues, support system enhancements, and contribute to market initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Confirm block trades either electronically or manually in coordination with broker confirmations.
- Facilitate and monitor trade flow processes through STP (Straight Through Processing) queues.
- Address and resolve daily inquiries from both internal and external parties.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures to achieve operational excellence.
- Prepare and distribute daily reports on trade activity and end-of-day summaries.
- Perform reconciliations of daily equity positions and market values.
- Monitor APAC regulatory trade reporting and address any discrepancies to avoid regulatory breaches.
- Assist with monthly metrics reporting and collaborate with back office teams to address identified risk items.
- Participate in projects aimed at enhancing operational environments and processes.
- Utilise technology to improve efficiencies and streamline daily workflows.
- Develop and analyse internal trade flow metrics, recommending process improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in investment management or financial services industry.
- Experience in Middle Office/Trade Support, with knowledge of APAC markets preferred.
- Familiarity with processing and settlement of financial products including Fixed Income, Forex, Derivatives, and Equities.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across various teams.
- Strong judgment, decision-making skills, and ethical conduct.
- Self-motivated with a problem-solving attitude; team player with a results-oriented approach.
- Open-minded, adaptable to new ideas, processes, and controls.
- Flexible with shift arrangements in place, including alternate monthly timings (6am to 3pm; 10am to 7pm) and possible work on Singapore public holidays.
- Experience with MS Office applications, Bloomberg trade order management systems, and matching utilities preferred.
Salary: Up to SGD120K per year (negotiable)
