Details of the Division and Team:

Within the Institutional Client Group (ICG) of FIC, the Platform Sales team’s objective is to build strong relationships with the COO, CFO, Head of Operations and Treasury in our major clients in order to drive an overall increase in annuity type fee revenues, maximise product density and improve overall return on financial resources. Platform Sales is responsible for originating and distributing Listed Derivatives Clearing and Execution, cleared OTC (cOTC), FX and Rates Prime Brokerage as well as originating FX Workflow solutions activity. The team covers institutional clients, including traditional/alternative asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds, insurance companies and banks.

Your key responsibilities:

Reporting to Global Sales Head of Platform Sales the role will involve two main responsibilities:

Platform and Workflow Sales origination for Institutional clients across Asia Pacific

  • Originate opportunities from a cross section of clients including Asset Managers, Hedge Funds and banks, identifying new target opportunities and drive revenue from existing clients. Subject matter expert in Platform products (Listed Derivatives, cleared OTC, FX and Rates Prime Brokerage, FX Workflow Solutions), working alongside broader franchise Sales pitching and closing of deals. Support clients through go-live processes and play a key role in the journey from solution acceptance and adoption to maturity.
  • Efficient management of the sales pipeline to ensure accuracy and speed of throughput including Targets, Prospects, Leads and Pitches including target revenue.
  • Explore and seek to find solutions for clients which differentiate Deutsche Bank. Organise and participate in events including conferences and client round tables to discuss structural issues and highlight capabilities with the aim to sell Deutsche Bank product and to identify future product needs.


Overall leadership of India business across Product and Sales

  • Responsible for driving the development of the business across distribution, origination, and marketing of the India Listed Derivatives franchise globally including governance and development of GIFT City business.

  • Direct: Singapore, Australia, Japan / India / Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia / Dubai, UAE, Saudi Arabia
  • Indirect via local Platform Sales reporting to Head of Platform Sales Asia Pacific: Hong Kong, China / South Korea
  • Partnering with regional Execution Desk in Australia, Japan and Mumbai


Your skills and experience:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • At least 15 years relevant experience in Listed Derivatives / Platforms distribution in Asia Pacific and in addition deep product specialization in the Indian derivatives market as one of the most active markets globally.
  • Detailed knowledge of the clients in Asia Pacific and the international clients trading into the various markets in the region including their requirements and factors which will motivate the clients to award mandates to Deutsche Bank.
  • Able to build and develop a platform franchise product the individual will be able to demonstrate that they have developed key client relationships and are recognised as a thought leader and expert in Listed derivatives markets in Asia Pacific including in India.
  • The individual will need to have demonstrable knowledge of local clients, markets and regulations and be an advocate on exchange forums and industry bodies.
  • In addition, the individual will be able to demonstrate an ability to develop opportunities for workflow and platform sales with key clients across FX and Rates products. Working closely with Institutional and Corporate Banking distribution teams the successful candidate will deliver origination across institutional clients and deliver against KPIs for both country and regional sales targets.
  • The individual will have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. They will be highly numerate with a good understanding of FIC products across G10 and EM markets.
