Join Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets group as an Analyst supporting our Commodity Markets and Financing business in our Southeast Asia markets. The division focuses on a diverse range of business activities involving providing financing across both physical and financial transactions for clients involved in the commodity markets.

What role will you play?

You will be involved in all aspects of commodities financing by working with senior originators to identify profitable financing opportunities across the commodity supply chain, including supporting the execution of structured financing opportunities, creating bespoke solutions to suit client requirements and conducting analysis of positions and risks for Macquarie as well as for our clients.

In addition, you will prepare presentations for meetings, as well as market commentary and analysis to send to clients, and provide operational support. Over time, the expectation is that you will become intimately involved in originating, structuring and executing transactions.

What You Offer

  • Recently graduated with a degree in Finance, Economics, Business and/or related fields and prior experience, including internships, within Commodities financing
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and modelling bespoke pricing sheets utilising Bloomberg feeds, along with company analysis utilising debt and credit market tools to compare across counterparties and sectors
  • Excellent academic results and knowledge of commodity markets and familiarity with derivatives and general finance documentation
  • A keen eye for detail and an excellent standard of work with demonstrated commercial astuteness and the ability to build strong working partnerships with stakeholders and clients
  • Experience within a company trading physical commodities and ASEAN language skills (to speak to existing clients and for the growth of the region) would be advantageous.
