Research Associate (Chemical Engineering/Material Science/Chemistry/Environmental Engineering)

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology invites applications for the position of Research Associate in Prof Yin Xunyuan’s group.

The Research Associate will take on a significant role in machine learning enabled optimal design and efficient operation for blended-amine CO2 capture.

Key Responsibilities:

The Research Associate will work together with R&D team to conduct the following tasks:

• Development of new machine learning modeling approaches
• Development of new advanced control and optimization algorithms
• Optimization of carbon capture process operation
• Provide regular project updates to principal investigator and funding agency
• Report writing/presentation

Job Requirements:

• Master’s degree in an engineering field related to this project

• Experience in dynamic modeling, machine learning and optimization & controls

• Having basic knowledge in carbon capture, utilisation and storage (preferable)

• Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of individuals and professional groups, primarily in English.
