Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. We are looking for a Research Fellow to conduct a project in a multi-disciplinary team. The role will focus on the conversion of biomass to low carbon fuels using life cycle assessment and techno-economic analysis of specific technologies develop in the project and compare against existing commercial technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform literature review on data available for commercial processes
  • Provide estimations for data not available in literature
  • Develop process flowsheets to describe the processes developed in the project and commercial processes
  • Perform life cycle assessment and techno-economic analysis processes developed in the project and commercial processes
  • Prepare manuscripts, reports and presentations
  • Guide and train students and junior lab members
  • Maintain complete documentation for modelling methods and analysis used
  • Regular communications with supervisors on progress and report writing

Job Requirements

  • PhD degree in chemical engineering or closely related field
  • Good understanding of LCA and TEA theories and calculations
  • Experience on ASPEN-HYSYS and LCA software tools
