UWCSEA is looking for a Senior Accounts Specialist, Accounts Receivable (Dual) to join the Finance Team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, Accounts Receivable, this role support the Accounts Receivable function and the accounting operations including designing, implementing and maintaining effective accounts receivable process and procedures, adhering to accounting policies that aligned to College’s Policy and Procedure and compliance with statutory requirements,

In addition, this role would be a Subject Matter Expert for the Sundry Billing process, manage contingency accounts for the boarders and scholars and partner with the Global Concerns team for compliance. The job would require coverage over the 2 campuses and may require regular presence on each campus.

Main Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

  • Administer the end to end process for Sundry Billing Process, Contingency and Global Concern and ensure in accordance with college’s Accounts Receivable Policy and Standard Operating Procedure
  • Maintain external customer master
  • Ensure billing and settlement are planned, executed and monitored on a timely basis
  • Partner with Accounts Payable team to monitor and reconcile the balance and usage of the contingency funds of the boarders and scholars.
  • Regular communication with the parents on the Contingency statement of Account
  • Partner with Accounts Payable team to monitor the NGO accounts and ensure the receipt process is in compliance with the Colleges’ need and Charity Act.
  • Ensure the revenue stream, GST and other related matters are accounted accurately
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the financial information for month end and year end closing
  • Response to queries from parents and internal stakeholders
  • Support the Finance Manager to provide monthly Global concern reporting to service office
  • Provide support and feedback to the Finance Manager during the policy and process documentation review and update
  • Partner and provide support to other sub-process within the Accounts Receivable team which include transaction entry and review, Accounts Payable team and Reporting Team
  • Part of the College Petty cash custodian team. The team will be responsible for managing the petty cash fund, issuing cash to employees and students, collecting receipts, and reconciling the fund in accordance with the College’s policies and procedures.

Project Operations

  • Point of Contact for the team in resolving Sundry Billing, Contingency statement and Global concern.
  • Support the Finance Manager to drive new system and system improvement projects.
  • Assist in data collection and user requirements and participate in UAT testing.

Reporting

  • Assist the Finance Manager in liaising with internal auditor or external auditor to ensure compliance in statutory accounts and year end audits in relation to Accounts Receivable
  • Assist with any other duties, tasks or jobs with similar levels of responsibility and complexity to the assigned job grade as may be reasonably requested by the line manager and/or the College.

Person Specifications

  • Minimum Diploma in Accounting or Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years Finance Experience in Accounts Receivable function
  • Knowledge of SAGE Finance systems is preferred.
  • Good Excel Skill and able to handle google sheet
  • Excellent communication skills and team player mindset to build and maintain excellent rapport with all levels of associates.
  • Hands on, self-starting, disciplined, and detail oriented individual with ability to work independently in a high volume environment and ensure that payment processing is highly accurate and timely
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of proper accounting treatment for accounts receivable transactions and activities
