Position Summary

UNGCNS is seeking an energetic and experienced candidate to engage partners and stakeholders in the subject of carbon accounting and management. The successful candidate will be part of UN GCNS’ Carbon Management Team and will assist companies across all business sectors in Singapore in reducing their carbon footprint through leading industry training and workshops, sustainability tools and resources, and by providing them with a supportive network.

The candidate will join an active UNGC country network - an ambitious team that is energised behind our mission to promote corporate sustainability and responsible business in Singapore and in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Organise carbon-related engagement events, both virtual and in-person, for UN GCNS members, LowCarbonSG Programme participants, and all other stakeholders. Such events can be within Singapore, or also cross-border exchanges in collaboration with other UNGC Country Networks.
  • Manage and administer the LowCarbonSG Programme, including participant tracking and reporting, the Carbon Emissions Recording Tool (CERT) completion progress, carbon workshop participation, LowCarbonSG logo recipients, etc.
  • Maintain and develop new key business partner relationships in the area of carbon accounting in order to grow and scale UN GCNS’ contribution in the carbon space.
  • Manage the COOL partners ecosystem website, make regular updates and improvements as and when required, and grow the participant base.
  • Develop material and platforms to showcase reduced carbon emissions efforts of partners and participants, including publishing of quarterly newsletters and other regular content updates on UN GCNS online platforms
  • Conduct training in carbon emissions management for companies and organisations using CERT, in groups and/or individual companies as needed, and facilitate CERT completion towards set KPI targets

Job Requirements and Attributes

  • Min 4 years of work experience. Industry experience with energy efficiency projects will be an advantage.
  • Tertiary level education in business, science- or engineering-based programmes.
  • A good understanding of sustainability and the SDGs, with a strong interest to learn and delve deeper into specific sustainability issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of carbon calculation/accounting and climate-related topics will be an important advantage.
  • Proven experience in analysing data and other information to extract insights around climate change and carbon accounting
  • Strong ability to build networks and connect with stakeholders in the sustainability and carbon accounting arena. Yet have the ability to work within a small team dynamic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
