About the Role:

Next Level Genomics is hiring a proactive and adaptable Research Assistant, primarily focused on lab-based work in spatial genomics. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on laboratory settings, has a strong problem-solving mindset, and values clear communication and teamwork.

You’ll be working directly on tissue processing, slide QC, and spatial multi-omics workflow execution using cutting-edge platforms. We would like if candidates could assist flexibly with operations, data tracking, or coordination as and when needed.

At NLG, we take pride in fostering a high-performing yet balanced work culture. We believe scientific excellence and work-life balance can go hand-in-hand—and we’re looking for someone who thrives in that kind of environment.

Top Qualities We’re Looking For:

1. Problem-solving mindset – you think critically, troubleshoot independently, adapt quickly, and keep a steady hand.

2. Strong interpersonal skills – you’re collaborative, communicative, and respectful in a team setting

3. Lab-first focus, flexible mindset – your main responsibilities are lab-based, but you’re open to contributing in other areas as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute spatial genomics lab work: tissue handling, reagent prep, slide QC, and instrument workflows (e.g., GeoMx, CosMx)

• Maintain a well-organized lab space, including inventory and basic equipment upkeep

• Troubleshoot issues and escalate when needed to prevent delays

• Collaborate with internal teams and communicate workflow updates effectively

• Support documentation, tracking, or ad hoc tasks depending on project needs

Qualifications:

Diploma or above in biotechnology, biomedical sciences, or molecular biology

Hands-on experience in histology (e.g., tissue sectioning, staining) is a strong advantage

• Background in NGS and Molecular biology techniques is helpful

• Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently

• Strong communication and team collaboration skills

• Organized, dependable, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities

Bonus Skills (Not Required):

• Familiarity with spatial or molecular profiling platforms

• Experience in data handling, documentation, or project coordination

• Interest in scientific communication or lab operations

Why Join Us?

Next Level Genomics is at the forefront of spatial and long-read sequencing across APAC. Join us to gain meaningful hands-on experience, work with leading technologies, and grow in a supportive team that prioritizes both scientific impact and personal well-being.
