Job Responsibilities
Safety Manager (Engineering) is responsible for implementing and monitoring Safety programs, managing and lead a team of Safety Specialists, policies and procedures that comply with the company and other applicable regulations.
Evaluates the organization’s procedure, facilities and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions.
Collaborate with management and employees to promote safety awareness and initiatives such that individual takes ownership of his/her safety and those around. This role combines technical knowledge with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
The key responsibilities and requirements are as follows:
- Lead and manage a team of Engineering Safety Specialists
- Focus to achieve TCIR 0.1 or less (Field Engineering Safety)
- Develop and enforce company safety policies to ensure a safe work environment
- Ensuring of regular safety inspections and risk assessments and implement corrective actions to reduce the potential of incidents from identified hazards
- Foster a collaborative and proactive approach to Global Safety Management
- Lead the team into investigation accidents or incidents to discover causes and solutions
- Manage, prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
- Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law and company guidelines
- Participation in Global Safety Quality Assurance Meeting for improvement and accident prevention measures
- Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operation
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures or new prevention measures
- To enhance and harmonize cross product technical safety management, improve product specific safety through close liaising with product factory
- Travel to different project sites to perform job duties
- Strict attention to detail and an eye for continuous improvement
Job Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or a related field, Technical Safety preferred
- Prior experience as Safety specialist is preferred
- Strong knowledge of legislation (e.g.WSH) and procedures
- Good knowledge of safety management information systems is an advantage
- Good planning and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Application
- High integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information and/or projects
- Strong communication and good interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated individual who works independently with little supervision
- Meticulous, organized and resourceful team player
