Finance Manager
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finance Operations
In charge of General Ledger including month-end/year-end accounts closing process.
Supervise and review the work performed by Accounts Receivable/Payable officers.
Provide guidance to Accounts Receivable/Payable officers.
Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations and schedules ensuring that journal entries are recorded accurately and timely.
Provide advice to teachers and staff on finance policies, procedures and guidelines.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. MOE, banks, teachers, funding agencies etc.) on finance-related matters.
Financial Reporting
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and documentation.
Prepare financial reports and supporting audit schedules.
Prepare and provide financial analysis to support decision-making by the school leaders.
Coordinate with external auditors on annual audit exercise to ensure timely submission of audited financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports to MOE.
Ensure full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations (i.e. tax filings etc.).
Financial Budget
Prepare annual revised forecast and annual budget in collaboration with the heads of department and school leaders.
Prepare and/or review periodic budget utilisation reports and analyse budget performance for departments.
Secretariat duties for Finance Sub-Committee Meetings of the Board of Governors.
Treasury and Banking matters
Monitor cash flow and placement of fixed deposits.
Perform administration duties related to banking (i.e. opening/closing of bank account, internet banking platform, corporate/virtual credit cards etc.).
Any Other Matters
Participate in process improvement and enhancements to accounting systems
Maintain and communicate finance policies, procedures and guidelines.
Provide guidance on fundraising and donation matters in accordance with MOE guidelines.
Support the Finance Director in investment-related matters.
Any other ad-hoc assignments as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelors degree in accountancy or a related field.
Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is highly preferred.
Experience in a supervisory role within an educational institution or a similar environment.
In-depth knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and relevant regulatory frameworks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous eye for details.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently or collaboratively in a team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels.
Demonstrated commitment to high ethical standards and professional integrity.
Proficient in MS Office Suite, financial software, and related tools.
