Make an Impact by:
Lead and supervise a team to carry out patch loading, implementation of software and hardware upgrades on mobile Core and Radio Access Network (RAN) nodes (4G/5G).
Lead and supervise a team to test and roll out new operations support features and functions.
Troubleshoot end-to-end cellular technology and perform root causes failure analysis for software & hardware faults in resolving radio network related issues.
Liaise and co-ordinate with system vendor(s) for the delivery, testing and timely implementation of new software, hardware and patches.
Create and maintain engineering test documentation, operations and system administration processes.
Perform and coordinate disaster recovery activity expeditiously in times of service disruptions so as to minimize operational downtime.
Ensure that service quality & performance of the RAN and its associated nodes are maintained at high availability, with minimum disruption to operations support.
Review existing best practices and processes for system acceptance testing and introduce preventive or optimized measures to improve system operations and team productivity.
Create and maintain Standard Operating Plans (SOPs) to operate the network elements.
Troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for system faults.
Provide engineering support and expertise to Planning and Product Marketing in technical feasibility studies and trials of new products and services.
As updates and upgrades may disrupt mobile services, the successful candidate occasionally needs to work outside regular working hours to carry out such activities.
There may also be unplanned system faults and service degradation outside regular working hours, which the successful candidate may be contacted to support the restoration.
Skills for Success:
Engineering degree preferably in the area of computer engineering/computer science/Communications.
5-10 years working experience in implementation, operations & maintenance of Mobile Core and RAN services preferred.
Must be self-driven and highly motivated with keen interest in mobile technologies (4G/5G).
Protocol knowledge of 5G, LTE, VoLTE, UMTS, and GSM interfaces and standards are desirable.
