SENIOR EXECUTIVE, INFRA & FACILITIES – SCHOOL OF INFOCOMM TECHNOLOGY

[What the role is]

This is a 2-year contract position as a Senior Executive in the School of InfoComm Technology,

[What you will be working on]

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide professional IT services to end users.

• Maintain day-to-day IT operations.

• Set up, administer, and troubleshoot IT equipment such as PCs, servers, network switches, iMacs, and MacBooks.

• Implement and manage Azure infrastructure, including virtual networks, storage, and services. This involves creating, deploying, managing, and scaling Azure resources and handling VM migrations.

• Administer Windows Domain infrastructure and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions like virtualization (Azure, AWS, Nutanix).

• Prepare the lab environment to meet teaching needs before the start of each semester.

• Explore and evaluate technology solutions that enhance IT operations and administration.

• Provide technical advice and support to academic and administrative staff.

• Source and purchase IT equipment.

• Implement and maintain security measures to protect the school’s infrastructure and data. This could involve patching and upgrading systems, managing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security software.

• Create and maintain clear documentation of IT processes and procedures.

[What we are looking for]

• Proficiency in Azure cloud services and infrastructure to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Azure resources.

• Experience in cloud migration planning and execution.

• IT Diploma with more than 3 years of IT administration working experience.

• Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.

• Problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) or container scripting (e.g., docker, Kubernetes) to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.

• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to a rapidly changing IT environment.

• A focus on providing excellent customer service to students and staff.

Relevant Certifications:

• Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

• Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)

  • Demonstrates expertise in implementing security controls and threat protection in Azure environments.

• CompTIA Security+

  • Validates foundational security knowledge and skills.

• ITIL Foundation

  • Provides a basic understanding of IT service management best practices.
