This is a 2-year contract position as a Senior Executive in the School of InfoComm Technology,
[What you will be working on]
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide professional IT services to end users.
Maintain day-to-day IT operations.
Set up, administer, and troubleshoot IT equipment such as PCs, servers, network switches, iMacs, and MacBooks.
Implement and manage Azure infrastructure, including virtual networks, storage, and services. This involves creating, deploying, managing, and scaling Azure resources and handling VM migrations.
Administer Windows Domain infrastructure and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions like virtualization (Azure, AWS, Nutanix).
Prepare the lab environment to meet teaching needs before the start of each semester.
Explore and evaluate technology solutions that enhance IT operations and administration.
Provide technical advice and support to academic and administrative staff.
Source and purchase IT equipment.
Implement and maintain security measures to protect the school’s infrastructure and data. This could involve patching and upgrading systems, managing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security software.
Create and maintain clear documentation of IT processes and procedures.
[What we are looking for]
Proficiency in Azure cloud services and infrastructure to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Azure resources.
Experience in cloud migration planning and execution.
IT Diploma with more than 3 years of IT administration working experience.
Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.
Problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) or container scripting (e.g., docker, Kubernetes) to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to a rapidly changing IT environment.
A focus on providing excellent customer service to students and staff.
Relevant Certifications:
Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
Demonstrates expertise in implementing security controls and threat protection in Azure environments.
CompTIA Security+
Validates foundational security knowledge and skills.
ITIL Foundation
Provides a basic understanding of IT service management best practices.
