Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee The purpose of this role is to lead and oversee actuarial services, including pricing tools development, analytics, portfolio management, reserving, reporting, and planning. This role involves managing a team to ensure actuarial services align with the business plan and strategic objectives of the organisation, while providing support to maintain profitability and manage designated products effectively.Responsibilities:
- Develop solutions to proactively ensure ongoing profitability of products.
- Maintain quality controls throughout processes.
- Build complex models and modify techniques as appropriate.
- Develop insight to support decision-making by the business.
- Provide industry expertise to contribute to planning and strategic issues.
- Manage and continually develop the actuarial function to meet business needs.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan own and team priorities and activities to ensure delivery is in line with plan requirements.
- Develop, direct, and coach junior pricing/analytics, and actuarial staff.
Work Experience:
Necessary Work Experience includes:
- Moderate relevant experience.
Preferred Work Experience includes:
- Experience in the Actuarial function within a multinational financial services business, with a preference for pricing and reserving of commercial business.
Qualifications:
Necessary Qualifications include:
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Relevant Actuary society certification, such as Fellow-Casualty Actuary Society (FCAS) or Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA).
