This Crude Oil Trading Analyst is part of the Crude Oil Department, reporting to the Crude Oil Team Leader. This role involves providing in-depth, high-quality market analysis, contributing to the development and execution of pricing strategies, managing derivative books, and ensuring effective hedging of crude oil positions. You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced trading environment, supporting decision-making with accurate, data-driven insights and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide detailed analysis and insights on global crude oil markets, with a focus on price trends, premiums, spreads, and key market indicators.
- Continuously monitor global crude oil markets to identify emerging trading opportunities.
- Evaluate and forecast global and regional crude oil demand and supply based on factors such as economic growth, cargo movements, geopolitical events, government policies, etc..
- Manage hedging strategies for crude oil positions, ensuring proper risk mitigation in volatile market conditions.
- Use trading platforms to access real-time market data, execute trades, and monitor positions.
- Record deals into the trading system and maintain up-to-date monitoring of market, credit, and operational risks.
- Compile market reports, maintain and update databases.
- Carry out and support other duties assigned by the Company.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Trading, Economics, Finance, Statistics or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trading, and market analysis within oil and gas trading company.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to process and interpret large datasets to generate actionable insights.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suits, and trading platforms, such as Refinitiv.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and maintain trust and integrity within a team.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin, capable of preparing analysis reports in Chinese and communicating with Mandarin-speaking counterparts.
