We are looking to hire a hard-working and efficient Commis / CDP to prepare ingredients and dishes for the Sous Chef and assist with various kitchen duties. You should demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ensure that all duties are completed promptly. Ultimately, an outstanding Commis should be able to follow all instructions and comply with food health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
Assist supervisors with all tasks necessary to ensure that kitchen operations run smoothly.
Preparing meal ingredients, which includes seasoning different meats as well as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, meat, and fruits.
Preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Sous Chef.
Receiving deliveries and verifying that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good quality.
Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying the supervisor of low or depleted supplies.
Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that workstations are properly sanitized. Remove trash and ensure that the trash bin is always clean.
Plating and presenting meal items as per the Sous Chef's instructions.
Follow food and beverage safety and hygiene policies and procedures
Requirements:
A proven commercial kitchen experience. Applicant with relevant experience may apply for CDP position.
Enthusiastic to learn and develop new skills.
Communicate and relate effectively at the workplace.
Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately
Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.

5 days per week (non fixed off days).
