The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), which is under the College of Engineering, aspires to be a leading school for Sustainable Urban Systems. Currently, it has over 40 faculty members and more than 1,500 students, and is rapidly expanding its range of educational and research activities. Its faculty has led major university-wide strategic research thrusts in space creation, water engineering and sustainable built environment. Going forward, CEE is addressing the continuous improvement in urban infrastructure such as building structures and energy systems, sustainability of urban cities, and resiliency to climate risks.
To fuel further development, we invite applications for Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) position in the areas of Coastal Protection Engineering.
Applicants would need to have an earned PhD degree in in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely-related discipline, and with have strong interdisciplinary expertise in the domains of coastal science/engineering, environmental fluid mechanics, or hydraulic engineering as applicable to protection of coastal infrastructures and/or ecosystems tapping into combinations of grey/green approaches. Previous strong academic credentials post PhD in these above areas will be highly preferred. Candidates should also demonstrate strong and relevant teaching ability and have excellent communication skills. In addition, candidates with experience in the industry as well as qualifications to become a professional engineer in Singapore will have an advantage.
