Engineer (Campus Development)

[What the role is:]

As a member of the Campus Development (CD) team, you will be responsible to maintain the various premises that support the core training business of Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA). You will be involved in the planning, execution, smooth running and maintenance of Singapore Aviation Academy Main Campus (SAA Main), Selarang Fire Training Ground (SFTG) and temporary holding site. There will be improvement projects, maintenance contracts and various day to day coordination with contractors, other teams in International Relations Group (IRG), as well as colleague from CAAS.

[What you will be working on:]

For this specific role, you will lead in the planning, implementation and maintenance of:

  • IT infrastructure and various simulator systems which increasingly require IT expertise.
  • Related and ad hoc project budget approval and procurement process
  • Related and ad hoc project procurement and contract management;
  • Related day to day operations to ensure smooth running to support training courses
  • Events and other related ad hoc logistics


In addition, as a member of the CD team, you will also be involved in other aspects of FM work that may span from cleaning, horticulture, custodial building maintenance, minor repair works, landscaping, pest control, air conditioning systems, training computers and aids, to security services, key access, fire-fighting equipment and emergency procedures etc, including the appointment of a property managing agent at the developed SAA Main. For premises and scope under your care, you will manage contractors to ensure all project and maintenance services are performed to the highest performance standards.

SAA will be undergoing some development works and you will also be involved in the large scale project, including the Spatial Transformation of SAA Main, especially in the aspects of IT infrastructure provision, project implementation and maintenance. You will work closely with CAAS related divisions and stakeholders to ensure works are completed safely, promptly and of the highest quality.

[What we are looking for:]

  • Minimally Diploma in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Estate Management or other relevant discipline
  • At least 2-3 years of working experience with years relevant technical working experience dealing with IT infrastructure provision, systems design, or external and internal building facility issues, and possess good project management skills
  • Self-motivated, driven, resourceful, a good team player and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong conceptual and analytical thinking skills
  • Knowledge in Public Sector procurement, Green Mark Certification, AutoCAD, Maya, Photoshop or other related software will be an advantage


Note: Your appointment designation will commensurate with your relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance, and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal.
