Their exchange supports hundreds of cryptocurrencies and perpetual futures contracts with significant monthly trading volume. Their payments platform can provide fiat and crypto pay-ins and outs, as well as OTC services.

Role: Director of Engineering

For this role, We are looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled Director of Engineering to lead the development of high-performance trading systems. The successful candidate will possess a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and deep knowledge of the cryptocurrency markets, particularly in high-frequency trading environments. This role requires excellent cross-team collaboration and communication skills, ensuring the alignment of technical and business strategies.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of low-latency, high-frequency trading systems to guarantee performance, reliability, and uptime.
  • Oversee the engineering team, manage task allocation, and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, aligning technology initiatives with business needs and market opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the trading infrastructure, ensuring continuous optimization.
  • Work alongside quantitative researchers to implement and refine trading strategies based on market data and trends.
  • Create and maintain thorough technical documentation to promote code clarity and future scalability.
  • Stay informed about advancements in data management and system organization to maintain high-performance standards.
  • Perform well under pressure and rapidly address unexpected challenges in a fast-paced trading environment.

Your Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience in developing low-latency, high-frequency trading systems, with exposure to cryptocurrency markets being a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in Java, with a proven ability to write optimized and efficient code.
  • Solid understanding of crypto trading instruments and market mechanics.
  • Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and quantitative analysis.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams, with a focus on task delegation and project management.
  • Proficiency in additional programming languages such as C++ and Python.
  • Knowledge of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency protocols.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for business needs.
