About Us: DORS (Design Orchard Retail Showcase), is Singapore pre-eminent multi-label store that supports top local designers in the lifestyle and fashion industries. The location serves as a creative incubator, vibrant events space, and a platform in the heart of Orchard Road for Singapore’s homegrown brands to showcase their creativity to the world. DORS houses over 100 brands in these categories, making it Singapore’s largest physical one-stop shopping destination for local labels. DORSe is the ai-powered digital channel that will fuel the growth of DORS through the merging of both digital and physical channels.

DORS is run by Singapore Fashion Council (SFC), the official association for the fashion industry in Singapore. Our mission at SFC is quite simple: To create A Vibrant Asian Hub For Responsible* Fashion.

Position Overview:

The Head of Technology of our eCommerce multi-label platform will be at the forefront of driving technological innovation and growth through DORSe. This role is pivotal in leading the development and execution of our technology strategy, with a strong focus on building an AI-driven data layer, integrating physical retail signals, and leveraging digital channels like WhatsApp Business and TikTok to enhance customer engagement and drive sales.

You will collaborate closely with the CEO of Singapore Fashion Council and other retail cross-functional teams to create a seamless omnichannel experience, optimizing the platform for performance, security, and scalability. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to elevate the platform’s capabilities, contribute to revenue growth through strategic technological initiatives, and lead a dynamic team of engineers in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

You will be working with a small agile team, with a start-up mindset, while being able to tap on the core secretariat team, the Council members and the wider membership within Singapore Fashion Council.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Technology Leadership

  • Work with the CEO to lead the development and execution of the technology strategy for the eCommerce platform, aligning with business goals.
  • Oversee the integration of AI-driven data layers to enhance decision-making, personalization, and customer insights.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to drive innovation in digital and physical retail convergence.

2. AI, Data and Channels Integration

  • Work with the vendors to ensure that AI data layer aggregates and analyses data from various sources, including physical store retail signals.
  • Ensure the AI models are optimized for product recommendations, inventory management, customer behaviour analysis, and predictive analytics.
  • Leverage data to create a seamless omnichannel experience that unifies online and offline customer interactions.
  • Spearhead the integration of digital channels such as WhatsApp Business and TikTok, ensuring they are effectively utilized for customer engagement and sales.

3. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing, sales, and customer service teams to align technology with channel strategies.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to ensure technology solutions deliver positive sales impact
  • Work closely with physical store operations to integrate and analyse retail signals, enhancing the overall customer experience.

4. Vendor and Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and partners, ensuring that all third-party solutions align with the platform's goals.
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party technologies that can enhance the platform's capabilities.

5. Compliance and Security

  • Ensure the platform complies with all relevant data privacy regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensure that vendors maintain robust cybersecurity measures, protecting customer data and transaction integrity.

6. Team Leadership and Development (Longer term)

  • In the longer run, this is a role that will be asked to build and mentor a high-performing technical team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Provide leadership in agile practices, ensuring efficient project management and delivery.
  • Drive professional development within the team, encouraging continuous learning and growth.

Specific Impacts this role should drive include (but not limited to):

Optimizing Conversion Rates:

  • Ensuring that the platform is designed and maintained to maximize user engagement and conversion rates, from browsing to checkout.
  • Work with Marketing to drive performance marketing

Channel-Specific Sales Growth:

  • Driving sales through newly integrated digital channels like WhatsApp Business and TikTok by ensuring seamless integration and user experience.
  • Analysing performance data from these channels and iterating on strategies to improve sales outcomes.

Personalization and Customer Engagement:

  • Leveraging AI-driven insights to create personalized shopping experiences that increase average order value and repeat purchases, both online and offline.

Omnichannel Sales Integration:

  • Enhancing the connection between online and offline sales channels, using data from physical stores to drive online sales and vice versa.

Revenue Impact of Technical Initiatives:

  • Measuring and reporting on how technical innovations, such as the AI data layer and platform optimizations, directly contribute to revenue growth.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in Business, Technology or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Fast learner, team player.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in startups, venture building, or related tech or digital roles.
  • Strong knowledge of the Retail-Tech, with a strong network of industry contacts.
  • Strong self-starter mentality, with clear communication, and interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate is a must.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for innovation, sustainability, and driving positive change in the industry.
