About This Role

Our Government Affairs and Public Policy team is an impactful unit, advising the company on global government engagements and regulatory matters, while cultivating Circles’ partnerships with key government and policy stakeholders internationally.

Key Responsibilities

As the Government Affairs and Public Policy Lead, you will:

  • Advise and work directly with internal stakeholders on policy strategy and formulation, government relations and special projects, and regulatory compliance
  • Track, and assess regulatory changes in the telecommunications and tech space and communicate these to internal stakeholders
  • Manage a nimble team to deliver focused, effective, advocacy and compliance efforts across our markets
  • Act as the point of contact with Circles’ regulatory advisors, industry forums / alliances, and other policy and/or government affiliates
  • Provide regional input and risk assessment where required in areas of regulatory compliance in the telecommunications space (and potentially for digital products beyond telco e.g. lifestyle, fintech)

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in communications, economics, law or political science
  • Min. 7 years’ experience in government or public policy and regulatory affairs. Experience in a high growth tech firm or a highly regulated industry preferred.
  • Proven track record of commercial successes with public affairs or influencing policy changes.
  • Excellent command of English in both written and spoken communication, including an ability to simplify concepts for non-regulatory audience
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work well with stakeholders
