is seeking for a Senior Regional Legal Counsel, APAC to be based in the Singapore office.


Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities (Under the Direction of the General Counsel, APAC)
  • Legal Advisory: Serve as a primary legal advisor to the APAC region, providing expert guidance on a wide variety of legal topics, including negotiations, disputes, employment, ethics and compliance, competition law, and the review of terms and conditions for high-stakes contracts and public tenders in APAC. Collaborate closely with the sales and operations teams to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a strategic partner to regional stakeholders by delivering timely and practical legal advice on matters impacting the APAC business. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to support the company’s objectives.
  • Contract Management: Lead the review, drafting, and negotiation of complex agreements with customers and distributors, including Supply Contracts, Purchase/Sale Terms and Conditions, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Distribution Agreements, Agency Agreements, Collaboration Agreements, and other high-value contracts. Provide strategic guidance on contract structures and risk mitigation.
  • Compliance Support: Work closely with the compliance department to support training programs, conduct internal investigations, and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements across the APAC region.
  • External Counsel Management: Coordinate with external counsel on complex legal projects and litigation matters, ensuring effective management of legal costs and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver advanced training programs for employees on Bruker's Contracting Rules, ethics and compliance, competition law, contract review skills, and other relevant legal topics to enhance internal legal awareness and compliance.
  • Risk Management and Strategic Planning: Oversee multiple legal matters simultaneously, providing proactive and strategic engagement with internal stakeholders to drive business-oriented solutions. Apply strong analytical abilities and sound business judgment to assess and mitigate risk effectively.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of regional legal policies, procedures, and best practices to support the growth and compliance of the business.
Qualifications:
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience: 6-8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) as an in-house attorney at a multinational corporation, with a focus on complex commercial transactions and cross-border legal issues.
  • Education: Law degree from a recognized university, with qualification to practice law in a commonwealth or other recognized jurisdiction.
  • Contract and Negotiation Skills: Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements. Proven ability to handle complex contract negotiations and manage high-value deals.
  • Strategic Legal Thinking: Strong strategic and business acumen, with the ability to address legal risks with actionable business strategies. Experience in public tender processes and advising on regulatory compliance in APAC.
  • Leadership and Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to a non-legal audience. Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the ability to lead projects and mentor junior legal staff.
  • Diverse Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving, with the ability to engage and build relationships across different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: Highly adaptable and resilient in the face of challenges and changing priorities. Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English and Mandarin, with proficiency in additional languages such as Japanese or Korean considered a plus.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel within the APAC region as required.
  • Team Player: Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to participate in all aspects of projects, demonstrating a results-oriented attitude.
