The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 11-month contract at the

Project Title: Examining the emotional regulation for feedback receptivity in Singapore Secondary Schools: An instrument development and validation study

Project Introduction: The project focuses on understanding how secondary school students in Singapore manage their emotions during feedback situations. Through face-to-face interview and focus group discussion with teachers and students using the Emotional Regulation Situational Judgement Test (SJT), the project aims to enhance student holistic learning and well-being.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology or related disciplines.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Good knowledge of qualitative research design.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and experience using NVivo is strongly preferred, but not required.
• Experience working in a research or school environment preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities:

Duties would include but not limited to the following:

• Contacting schools to coordinate research.
• Organizing meetings.
• Taking meeting minutes.
• Data collection, entry, coding and analysis.
• Conducting literature reviews.
• Reporting writing.
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI).
