Accounting Supervisor – General Ledger

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring all financial transactions are correctly recorded. You will ensure that entries are accurately recorded in the ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledgers with the general ledger for consistency and accuracy. You will analyse current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to forecast future financial outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Compile and analyse financial information to create journal entries and document business transactions.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss and cost accounting reports.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure data accuracy across all financial entries.
  • Maintain and implement effective accounting control procedures.
  • Review and analyse budgets, expenditures, and financial trends, and communicate key findings.
  • Collaborate with various business units and the controller group to resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Manage and update financial databases, software systems, and manual records.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and SOX standards.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of accounting experience, 3 years preferred.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Financials module is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial record-keeping, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.
