Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Design Management & Projects reports to the Vice President, Design Management and Projects, and will lead and oversee all aspects of design management across multiple projects in commercial, hospitality and residential assets, with a focus on space planning, fit-out and FF&E design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in interior design and architecture, with proven experience in managing both small and complex projects from concept through to completion. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker who can manage stakeholders’ expectations, coordinate multi-disciplinary consultant teams, and ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work independently to lead the design management process for multiple projects simultaneously, from concept development to final delivery.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to define the scope of work, design and procurement strategy for each project.
  • Manage project schedule and deliverables, to achieve time, cost, quality and design intent to achieve buildability, operability and maintainability.
  • Ensure that all projects (new build and renovations) meet the high quality and distinctive architectural and interior design standards of Pontiac Land Group.
  • Work with PM to prepare tender packages and bid documents. Take part in the review, analysis and evaluation of tender proposals and value engineering.
  • Review architectural, interior design, lighting, wayfinding, FF&E, OS&E and other drawings and technical specifications submitted by consultants, suppliers and contractors, including concept design, space planning, design development, tender documentation and construction documentation.
  • Guide and monitor the performance, standards and work quality of appointed interior designers, consultants, suppliers and contractors.
  • Conduct quality checks and reviews of mock-up rooms, show flats, fit-out mock-ups and FF&E prototypes.
  • Coordinate with hotel management, residential management, other asset management teams and all related parties to ensure timely and smooth project management and handing over within stipulated timelines.
  • Stay informed of the latest trends and innovations in design. Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and relationships. Continuously seek opportunities to improve design processes and outcomes.

Key Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in hospitality and residential projects, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Good knowledge of space planning, interior concepts, interior design details, working drawings and construction practices.
  • Good understanding of interior design materials’ costs, performance and application.
  • Ability to complete reviews timely with strong attention to design and construction details.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to work independently with a high degree of integrity.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and passionate to deliver projects successfully.
  • Experience with hospitality and residential FF&E and OS&E sourcing and procurement will be an advantage.
