Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and update Asia SM strategy in alignment with Chemicals Asia strategy.
  • Provide leadership and coordinate the SM business in accordance with HELM principles.
  • Regional SM profit/loss.
  • Responsible for all purchases and sales (term and spot) for Asia in alignment with respective country Managing Directors accountable for local distribution.
  • Identification and execution of arbitrages (aligning with Europe and Americas)
  • Active Risk Management to reduce risk exposure and securing margins through physical and paper hedging.
  • Execute SM Futures transactions and development in accordance with guidelines and limits.
  • Account management of all Asia suppliers and customers, jointly with respective country Managing Directors.
  • Market analytics – analysis of market drivers, price development, forward curve to drive decision making.
  • Participate in local / regional conferences which are relevant to the industry.
  • Develop and grow other Aromatics products, starting with Benzene.


Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of Petrochemicals/ Oil trading experience, specifically paper trades
  • Strong commercial mindset, knowledge and understanding of how market functions and opportunities/risks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of market/industry/players.
  • Commercial and contracting strategy and execution
  • Deep analytical skills and natural problem solver.
  • Bachelor’s degree from recognized university
  • Strong English (writing and speaking) and proficient in business Mandarin.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Learner's and continuous improvement mindset.
