Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and update Asia SM strategy in alignment with Chemicals Asia strategy.
- Provide leadership and coordinate the SM business in accordance with HELM principles.
- Regional SM profit/loss.
- Responsible for all purchases and sales (term and spot) for Asia in alignment with respective country Managing Directors accountable for local distribution.
- Identification and execution of arbitrages (aligning with Europe and Americas)
- Active Risk Management to reduce risk exposure and securing margins through physical and paper hedging.
- Execute SM Futures transactions and development in accordance with guidelines and limits.
- Account management of all Asia suppliers and customers, jointly with respective country Managing Directors.
- Market analytics – analysis of market drivers, price development, forward curve to drive decision making.
- Participate in local / regional conferences which are relevant to the industry.
- Develop and grow other Aromatics products, starting with Benzene.
- 5 to 10 years of Petrochemicals/ Oil trading experience, specifically paper trades
- Strong commercial mindset, knowledge and understanding of how market functions and opportunities/risks.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of market/industry/players.
- Commercial and contracting strategy and execution
- Deep analytical skills and natural problem solver.
- Bachelor’s degree from recognized university
- Strong English (writing and speaking) and proficient in business Mandarin.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
- Learner's and continuous improvement mindset.
