Position Overview:
The Head of Operations will oversee the bank's operational functions, ensuring optimal performance, regulatory compliance, and alignment with strategic goals. This role is crucial in shaping and implementing operational strategies that enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in banking operations, strong leadership capabilities, and a strategic approach to managing complex financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and execute operational strategies to support the bank's overall business objectives and growth plans.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to set operational targets and drive initiatives that align with the bank's strategic vision.
    • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for process improvements and innovation within banking operations.
  2. Operational Oversight:

    • Manage and optimize day-to-day operations across all banking functions, including retail banking, corporate banking, and risk management.
    • Ensure the efficient execution of banking processes, from transaction processing to compliance checks, while maintaining high service standards.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to assess performance and drive continuous improvement.
  3. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Ensure all operations comply with relevant banking regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
    • Oversee the implementation of risk management strategies to mitigate operational and financial risks.
    • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to policies and procedures.
  4. Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
    • Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development opportunities for team members.
    • Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively to achieve operational goals.
  5. Project Management and Innovation:

    • Lead strategic projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, service delivery, and customer experience.

    • Drive innovation in operational processes and technology adoption to maintain a competitive edge.
  6. Customer and Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Maintain strong relationships with key partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience (15+ years) in operations management within the banking or financial services industry, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a focus on building and nurturing high-performing teams.
  • Proficient in banking operations software, project management tools, and data analysis.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior management and other stakeholders.
