Our Summer Internship Program

Our Summer Internship Program is an 8-week (June 16 – August 8, 2025) internship designed to provide you with an exciting, supportive and fun experience which mirrors life as an Analyst at BlackRock. You’ll have real-world responsibilities during the summer, in addition to participating in professional development, networking and social events.

The Summer Internship Program acts as a feeder to the 2026 Full-Time Graduate Analyst Program.

About Cyber Security

We are a team of cyber security experts, protecting our business and developing exciting capabilities on the frontline of cyber defense.

A Career in Cyber Security

You can consider one of the following paths within Cyber Security:

  • Information Security: A function that manages and delivers BlackRock’s information security program to protect the firm information and digital assets, drive security governance and defend the BlackRock assets against cyber threats. Information Security also delivers security awareness training to meet compliance requirements and help our staff keep updated with the latest cyber threats and trends.
  • Information Risk: A function primarily delivers risk management services and support the program administration of the Information Security team. The risk management services cover identifying of cybersecurity-supply chain risks and threats, and providing recommendations to mitigate information security risks, according to the firm’s risk tolerance level. The team also delivers the Information Security Awareness training to support regulatory compliance and internal controls requirements.

Your Role as a Summer Intern

  • As an Information Security intern, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to various aspects of BlackRock’s Information Security program, ranging from cyber operations, governance, provide advisory and analysis of cyber risks, data loss prevention, regulatory analysis, 3rd party risks management, governance & reporting and delivering training etc.
  • As an Information Risk intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across various departments to understand the firm’s business operations and processes, to assess information security risks associated with technology usage and operations utilized by 3rd party providers and supply chain risk management.

What capabilities are we looking for?

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Solid ability to prioritize, manage and perform multiple tasks
  • Able to work individually and within a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective organization and time management skills
  • Understanding of computer networking protocols, technology, and network security principles and infrastructure security controls
  • Understanding of how Internet technology works and interacts with one another
  • General appreciation of project development and organizational management process
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office tools including and not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate repetitive tasks and analyze data
  • Basic understanding of technology risk management and business analysis methods
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity threats and trends
