Our client is a fast-growing digital infrastructure company with a global presence. We are seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. This role is ideal for a candidate looking to transition in-house, bringing valuable experience from legal practice, particularly in the compliance domain.

As a Legal Counsel, you will be critical in ensuring our operations comply with relevant laws and regulations. You will advise on and develop compliance policies and frameworks, conduct investigations, and provide guidance on anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and gift policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on compliance policies, frameworks, and best practices to ensure the company's adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement compliance policies, including anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and gift policies. Ensure these policies are up-to-date and effectively communicated across the organization.
  • Conduct and oversee internal investigations related to compliance issues. Prepare investigation reports and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on compliance-related matters, ensuring a culture of integrity and legal compliance.
  • Identify and assess compliance risks. Develop strategies to mitigate these risks and implement robust monitoring systems
  • Stay current with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Advise the legal team and management on any changes impacting the company.
  • Work closely with various departments, including HR, finance, and operations, to ensure integrated compliance efforts. Provide support and guidance to internal stakeholders on compliance-related issues
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and investigations. Prepare regular reports for senior management and the board

Requirements

  • 3 to 7 years post-qualification experience (PQE) gained in legal practice, with a strong focus on compliance
  • Qualified lawyer with a degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) and admission to the bar in a relevant jurisdiction
  • Proven experience advising on compliance policies, frameworks, investigations, anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and gift policies.
