The incumbent shall be involved in the research and development of the extraction portfolio, flavour characterization, extraction process development and optimization.

A highly organized individual with good working experience in separation and purification techniques. He/shall ensure projects operations run smoothly by following good documentation practices, analyse/report results, utilize research and problem-solving skills, adhere to health and safety protocols.

The role shall work closely with key senior personnel and management in understanding the needs of the company and meeting timelines in producing desired research results. The main duties of the incumbent can be summarized as follows:

Responsibilities :

  • Set up, operate, and monitor extraction equipment following established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure proper functioning of extraction machinery and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Perform extraction techniques such as solvent-based, solventless, or supercritical CO2 extraction.
  • Follow precise procedures to extract desired compounds from botanical and natural materials.
  • Monitor and adjust process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and solvent flow rates to optimize yield and quality of extracts.
  • Document and report any deviations or inconsistencies in the extraction process.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment during extraction activities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of extraction activities, including batch numbers, process conditions, yields, and observations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of extraction equipment to ensure proper functioning and prevent contamination.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, yield, and product quality.
  • Assist in managing inventory of raw materials, solvents, and supplies required for extraction.
  • Identify and address issues that may affect extraction processes, such as irregular yields or equipment malfunctions.
  • Adhere to project timelines and product development schedule.
  • Other ad-hoc assignments by reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma / Degree in chemistry or related study.
  • Having good hands-on experience using extraction and purification techniques.
  • Working knowledge on essential laboratory analytical equipment and chemical analysis.
