What The Role Is

Foreign manpower makes up one-third of our workforce and is a significant part of our economic and social landscape. It is essential that we the foreign worker landscape is well-managed through implementation and enforcement of policies, and regulation of key intermediaries such as employment agencies and dormitory operators that they reside in acceptable and proper housing. This will enable Singapore to continue to benefit from their presence and for us to fulfil our duty of care to our migrant workers.

What You Will Be Working On

You will ensure professionalism of the employment agency industry through licensing and administration of regulatory levers such as demerit points and security bond. You will be required to monitor and assess the performance of employment agencies and look into feedback and investigation findings. You will also be involved in initiatives to uplift industry standards so that the interests of employers and employees continue to be safeguarded.

As part of your job, you need to liaise with other agencies and external customers to provide advice on processes and manage queries and appeals from public. You should also build up industry knowledge and good understanding of the parties you are regulating. From time to time, you may need to carry out on-site inspections.

What We Are Looking For

  • 2 years of work experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to work across diverse teams and with stakeholders across both public and private sector
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently; proactive and fast learner with positive attitude
