Manufacturing Operations Manager

Responsibilities

Production

  • Supervise and coordinate production personnel, ensuring production schedules, output targets, and quality products are achieved timely.
  • Plan team activities to achieve production requirements with minimal disruption.
  • Efficiently and safely manage process hand-overs.
  • Develop, revise, and review SOPs for routine production activities.
  • Lead team training and development to function as a professional unit.
  • Ensure detailed and accurate process documentation for each shift.
  • Manage notifications, problem resolutions, and production investigations, particularly process deviations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and facility maintenance.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager for equipment and maintenance matters.
  • Develop and review cleaning batch sheets and other process-related documents.
  • Assist in recruiting staff of appropriate caliber.
  • Coordinate and lead all aspects of third-party contractor activities.

Quality

  • Maintain team compliance with quality standards via SOPs and corrective actions.
  • Participate in audits and inspections.
  • Timely review and submit batch records to QA.
  • Liaise with Quality Control for sample tests and resolution of inconsistencies.

Budget

  • Support in planning and controlling the budget, identifying department needs for materials and human resources.
  • Share production objectives, verify cost trends, and propose corrective actions.

Consumables

  • Maintain adequate consumable levels and coordinate with warehouse and procurement for sourcing.

Communication

  • Effectively communicate company policies, objectives, and results.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for Technicians.
  • Handle grievances and conduct team appraisals.

Safety

  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety rules.
  • Promote awareness of safety and risks associated with chemicals, equipment, and processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in manufacturing operations management.
  • Outstanding leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Strong knowledge of SOPs, cGMP, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ambitious and determined to drive continuous improvement.
