What The Role Is

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is Singapore’s central bank and integrated financial regulator.

As central bank, MAS promotes sustained, non-inflationary economic growth through the conduct of monetary policy and close macroeconomic surveillance and analysis. It manages Singapore’s exchange rate, official foreign reserves, and liquidity in the banking sector.

As an integrated financial supervisor, MAS fosters a sound financial services sector through its prudential oversight of all financial institutions in Singapore – banks, insurers, capital market intermediaries, financial advisors, and stock exchanges. It is also responsible for well-functioning financial markets, sound conduct, and investor education.

MAS also works with the financial industry to promote Singapore as a dynamic international financial centre. It facilitates the development of infrastructure, adoption of technology, and upgrading of skills in the financial industry.

Join us now, if you have a genuine interest in making an impact to help shape Singapore’s economic and financial landscape.

[What you will be working on]

You will be part of a dynamic team in the Technology and Cyber Risk Supervision Department (TCRD) that is responsible for the supervision of financial institutions (FIs) technology and cyber risk management practices, and the regulatory development of new polices and guidelines.

You will have opportunities to spearhead strategic initiatives and projects that will help to strengthen the cyber resilience of the financial sector by working closely with leading technology companies, industry associations such as the Association of Banks in Singapore, government agencies, and international bodies.

With the evolving nature of cyber threat and increased digitalisation by FIs in recent years, you will play a subject matter expert role in strategising TCRD’s supervision approach to technology and risk management by the FIs, providing pertinent guidance to the FIs, building up inspection programmes and methodology, and driving key initiatives for a safe and secure financial sector.

You are expected to have a sound understanding on technology and cyber risk management, and possess the requisite skillsets to assess the effectiveness of security controls implemented by FIs and their service providers, and serve as a subject matter expert on such assessments.

  • Highly analytical with good written and verbal communication skills
