General Description

As a key member of the Operations Transformation team, the responsibility of the incumbent includes:

  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead and manage the Core Banking Squad, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture, promoting continuous learning and growth.
  • Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to team members.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between team members, stakeholders, cross-squads, and cross-platforms.
  • Establish standards and baselines for Product Owners/PMO.
  • Monitor ongoing delivery/execution and identify development areas.
  • Provide necessary on job and directed online/in person training as necessary.
  • Continually engage staff to review career goals and plan necessary development.
  • Product Ownership and Strategy:
  • Define and maintain the product vision, roadmap, and strategy for operational transformation and core banking system.
  • Landscape scan of Operations to identify key demand themes.
  • Review Front Office and Up/Down stream Feedback for key supply (data provision) themes.
  • Synthesize key capability themes with delivery capabilities and build business case.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and development teams to gather requirements, understand user needs, and define product features.
  • Translate the requirements into user's stories, facilitate and participate in workshops in refining the requirements.
  • Continuous prioritization of product backlog items based on business value, technical feasibility, and customer impact.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of business processes and solution design.
  • Perform gap analysis where business requirements are not met.
  • Coordinate and Facilitate OP for Operations and Core Banking
  • Submissions and presentations to Platform and Transformation Office, TIC and ITMC
  • Translation of approved OP epics/funding into assignments and OKRs
  • Project and Delivery Management:
  • Drive the successful delivery of core banking initiatives, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with scrum master, business analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and priorities.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, monitor progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues.
  • Coordinate with other squads and tribes to ensure smooth integration and alignment of core banking initiatives within the overall ecosystem.
  • Provide business analysis and business-related issue resolution to all cross functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Prioritization, assignment and staging of epics/OKRs to Core Banking Squads.
  • Coordination/Demand management across other platforms, tribes, OCBC Group and GWM-AS, represent at ESOS and Big Room Planning.
  • Provide thematic/directional guidance on delivery to synergize, create extensibility and scalability in solutions.
  • Monitoring of squad deliveries against assigned epics and OKRs, support and moderate in PSC and OKR forums
  • Intervention to review prioritization and solutioning approach where necessary.
  • Timely engagement with sponsor for re-prioritization to maximize business outcomes.
  • Quality Assurance and User Experience:
  • Manage/participate in the execution of the UAT and regression testing.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to define and document test strategy/approach (including test automation).
  • Review/approve test plan (including test scenarios, test cases and test data).
  • Execute test plans and ensure that all test results are documented.
  • Ensure that the product meets quality standards and user expectations.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and other teams to understand requirements and translate


them into actionable plans.

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
  • Communicate project updates, progress, and challenges effectively to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate and prioritize product requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and


objectives.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing insights, recommendations, and solutions to address their needs.


Qualifications

Work Experience Requirements

  • A degree holder Banking & Finance, Computer Science or related field
  • 12+ years' experience within financial services in Operations run-the-bank, business analyst, project manager, product owner. Relevant experience in Private Banking / Wealth Management Operations preferred.
  • A self-starter with a 'can do' attitude and delivery focused with attention to details.
  • Possesses strong communication, influencing and presentation skills.
  • Thrives in a fast paced & demanding environment, adaptive & resilient, one who enjoys working with diverse cultures.
  • A team player who works well with technical and business stakeholders (example, Front Office, Product, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance).
  • Exposure/experience with lean/continuous improvement, data analytics/visualization, new/emerging technologies will be useful.
  • Knowledge of Temenos T24, TAP and other common private banking systems including relevant rules and regulations relating to private banking is an advantage.
