Job Summary
The Warehouse Assistant will support the efficient operation of the warehouse by ensuring the accurate handling, storage, and dispatch of goods. The role involves receiving and checking deliveries, organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving and Inspection:
Receive incoming goods and check against delivery orders/invoices for accuracy.
Inspect goods for damages or discrepancies and report issues to the supervisor.
Storage and Inventory Management:
Organize and store goods in designated areas, ensuring proper labeling and arrangement.
Perform regular stock counts and report inventory discrepancies.
Assist with inventory system updates to ensure accurate records.
Order Fulfillment:
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch according to delivery schedules.
Ensure items are packed securely to avoid damage during transit.
Dispatch and Logistics:
Assist in loading and unloading goods for deliveries or shipments.
Coordinate with drivers and logistics partners for smooth dispatch operations.
Safety and Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse.
Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including the proper handling of equipment and hazardous materials.
Perform routine checks on warehouse tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
General Support:
Assist with administrative tasks related to warehouse operations, such as updating records and filing documents.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
Requirements
Education: Minimum [e.g., Secondary School/NITEC or equivalent].
Experience: Prior experience in warehouse operations is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills:
Basic knowledge of inventory management systems is an advantage.
Physically fit and capable of lifting/moving heavy items (up to [weight, e.g., 15kg]).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
Working Conditions
Based in a warehouse environment, with exposure to varying temperatures and physical activities.
Standard working hours are 8.30 am to 6 pm, with occasional overtime required
