Design Engineer
Job Description
This position is opened to any individual who has a foresight to work alongside people from around the globe, solving problems by designing tailor-made products for use in the context of manufacturing, research, and anything in-between. The 3D Technologies Team adopts user-centric design approach to bridge the gap between the user and the accompanying technology, primarily exploiting Additive Manufacturing as an enabler towards achieving new inventions. The team aim to strike a balance by continuously seeking newness, being wary and involved in the latest technology advancements and how that would influence and raise our organization competitive edge, not forgetting the appreciation of simplified yet purposeful solutions that are deserving to the end-users and cost-effective in the shortest amount of time. It will reward exceedingly to creative individuals who are consistently curious and willing to pry into simple to complicated day-to-day problems and bring values to the end-users with empathy.
Exposure:
- Communicate a working idea quickly with potential end-users and stake holders that is convincing in terms of technological sense and materiality through Additive Manufacturing and Reverse Engineering processes.
- Materialize ideas into tangible products, balancing cost, and delivery time.
- Understand the various standards/ guidance and approving authorities both internally within the organization and externally for a commercially ready products for testing and manufacturing
Specific Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support in prototyping, pre and post processing of 3D Printed components
- Participate in discussions, ideation and conceptualizations, communications with clients and stake holders
Competencies
- Strong Computer Aided Design (CAD) skills (i.e, Fusion360 preferred)
- Understanding of AM technologies (i.e FFF, SLA, SLS, MJT) and corresponding materiality
- Reverse Engineering (i.e 3D scanning, Materialize Magics, Geomagic)
Qualifications
- Diploma/ Degree/ Master in Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering/ Biomedical Engineering/ Industrial Design/ Product Design or equivalent
- Knowledge in coding, G-Code, Python, and/ or Arduino assembly will be prioritized.
