The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 8-month contract at the .

Project Title: Optimising capacity to improve ideas by investigating Brainwave Responses to idea- improvement trigger with Electroencephalogram (EEG)

Project Introduction:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join an innovative project at the intersection of neuroscience and education. This research explores how brainwave responses, measured through EEG, are triggered by specific linguistic cues to optimize idea improvement in collaborative learning environments. By combining cutting-edge EEG technology with qualitative and quantitative methodologies, the project aims to uncover new insights into knowledge building processes.

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in neuroscience, psychology, education, or a related field.
• Strong interest in neuroeducation or cognitive neuroscience.
• Experience with EEG data collection and analysis (preferred but not mandatory). Proficiency in statistical software and/or programming (e.g., Python, R, or MATLAB). (preferred but not mandatory).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in hiring and coordinating experiment participants, ensuring smooth logistical arrangements.
• Support EEG data collection during learning tasks and maintain organized records of the data.
• Assist in data analysis, including EEG spectral and statistical analysis, under the guidance of the research team.
• Help with organizing and managing project materials, including data documentation and experiment schedules.
• Contribute to academic writing, including drafting sections of reports, papers, and presentations.
• Other duties as assigned by Principal Investigator
