Royal Ocean Marine is looking for a skilled and experienced Welding Superintendent to join our client's team. The Welding Superintendent will oversee all welding operations on site, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality control, and efficiency in processes. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of workmanship and contributing to the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage welding activities to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications, ensuring they meet industry regulations and project requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and assessments of welds, providing feedback and corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other departments to ensure alignment of welding operations with overall project timelines and goals.
  • Train and mentor welding staff in best practices, safety regulations, and techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records of welding activities, inspections, and certifications.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address any non-conformities and improve processes.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Supervisor, CSWIP) are highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in welding operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, techniques, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage a team effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Relevant certifications in welding and safety practices (e.g., AWS, ASME) are highly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel as required for various project needs.
  • Open to be station in Batam
