Royal Ocean Marine is excited to announce an opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our client's team as a Trainee Technical Superintendent. This is an entry-level position aimed at recent graduates or individuals looking to start their career in the maritime industry.
As a Trainee Technical Superintendent, you will work under the guidance of experienced technical superintendents, gaining hands-on experience in vessel operations, maintenance management, and compliance with industry regulations. You will have the chance to learn about various aspects of technical management in the maritime sector, including maintenance planning, inspections, and interaction with crew members and external stakeholders.

- Support the execution of technical operations in compliance with the company’s IMS, local and international regulations, and charter requirements.
- Assist in ensuring that all vessel operations comply with safety, environmental, and statutory standards.
- Assist in planning and scheduling vessel PMS tasks to ensure timely and effective completion.
- Conduct verification and validation of completed PMS tasks under the guidance of the Technical Superintendent.
- Monitor and follow up on defects or job cards raised by vessels, ensuring timely closure to prevent operational disruptions.
- Track and report on vessel operating expenses to ensure adherence to the approved opex budget.
- Assist in preparing cost analysis and supporting documents for budget reviews.
- Help maintain accurate and up-to-date vessel technical documents and records.
- Assist in monitoring the availability of critical spare parts and inventory to minimize operational interruptions.
- Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of drydock activities, special surveys, and engine overhauls as per the approved timeline and budget.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for conversion or modification projects, if required.
- Assist in tracking vessel fuel consumption and ensuring compliance with set KPIs.
- Support initiatives to optimize fuel usage and prevent wastage.
- Aid in the preparation and facilitation of client and statutory inspections and audits.
- Follow up on the closure of any punch list items within the agreed timeline.
- Conduct or assist in annual physical stock counts onboard vessels to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Support management in delivering excellence on assigned projects and additional tasks as required.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience in maritime operations, vessel maintenance, or a related technical role (no experience with strong technical aptitude in the above engineering background may be considered).
- Familiarity with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and maritime regulations.
- Knowledge of vessel systems, planned maintenance systems, and drydock processes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical management software.
- Willingness to travel and work onboard vessels as needed.
