Assistant Engineering Manager (Electrical Technical Team)
You will be part of the team that is responsible for the construction phase (construction, testing and commissioning) and operations phase (operation and maintenance) of the Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF).
[What you will be working on]
The detailed work scope and responsibilities are as follows:
Construction Phase
Supervise contractors during erection, installation, inspection, testing and commissioing of IWMF
Ensure installation works by the contractors complied with the approved drawings and technical specifications
Ensure contractors adhered to the installation procedures and workplace safety requirements
Report any non-compliance by the contractors to immediate supervisor
Review the detailed design of the electrical systems for IWMF
Operational Phase
Operate and maintain a Waste-to-Energy facility, and auxiliary services
Work with engineers, supervisors to coordinate maintenance work between contractors and maintenance sections to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient operations of the waste-to-energy facility
Work with engineers and supervisors to implement preventive maintenance and overhaul programs for the facility's electrical and control equipment such as turbo-generators, motors, switchgears, low tension and high tension equipment, distributed control system and field instruments
Work with engineers and supervisors to analyse causes of unscheduled shutdown of boilers and recommend improvements
Work with engineers and supervisors to plan and carry out purchase and replenishment of spare parts of electrical and control equipment
Work with engineers and supervisors to administer contracts for the operation and maintenance of electrical and control equipment
Work with the team to enforce permit-to-work system and safe work culture
Supervise contractors’ work for quality and safety
[What we are looking for]
Diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics or Power Engineering)
Candidates who possess the Licensed Electrical Worker (Technician Grade) certification issued by the Energy Market Authority is preferred. Fresh graduates will also be considered.
Good technical background and strong analytical skills. Knowledge in solid waste management would be an advantage. Preference will be given to those who have exhibited good interest/knowledge in key electrical and control systems deployed in waste-to-energy or power generation facilities such as electrical transmission/distribution systems, distributed control systems and field instruments
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Mature, independent, resourceful, and a good team player
Good interpersonal communication
Able to perform rotating shift work over public holidays and weekend if necessary
Required to go for site inspections under hot and dusty environment, including climbing of stairs/ladders and entering confined space
