DESIGNATION : Senior Manager / Deputy Director, Knowledge & Insights

RESPONSIBILITIES

Change your day job. Develop insights via meaningful and impact-driven research to grow a culture of giving towards a City of Good.

You will lead a team to conduct social science research and data analytics on individual and institutional giving and prosociality in Singapore, analyse and present insights to inform internal stakeholders and influence external partners, such as government agencies, non-profits, companies and funders.

We seek motivated candidates with the passion to make NVPC an evidence-informed and data-driven organisation, to carry out meaningful work at the intersection of non-profit, public and private sectors and to make a difference at the national level.

Responsibilities

  • Lead national research studies and data analytics projects investigating current issues in Singapore's non-profit sector, such as nationwide surveys on individuals' and corporates' giving behaviours and attitudes towards giving, impact evaluation of national programmes, and big data analytics.
  • Adopt an evidence-informed approach to design and evaluate programmes and policies in the non-profit sector, such as through data triangulation of relevant sources.
  • Support the Director in developing research plans and managing the research team.
  • Provide mentorship and research methods training to the research team.
  • For each project, responsibilities include conceptualisation and scoping of research topics and questions, designing studies grounded in rigorous research methodologies and ethics, overseeing data collection and analysing research data, and disseminating research findings through reports, presentations, and academic publications.
  • Manage partnerships with internal teams (such as other business teams) and external stakeholders (such as government agencies and corporations).
  • Communicate research findings and insights to the public and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Work with team members to develop manuscripts for academic publications and conferences.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Postgraduate degree in Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Economics, or another related field
  • Have been in managerial roles leading a research team
  • Have led national studies or carried out primary research with large sample sizes
  • Have advanced quantitative research experience, including factor analysis, SEM
  • Have data analytics/ programming experience, i.e., R
  • Proficient in various research designs, methods, processes and statistical analysis
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Preferably some knowledge of the non-profit sector
